Hello there. I am Mister Luke Edward Young. The Luke coming from the Bible (more over, the book of Luke :). Edward being my fraternal grandfather, and my father's middle name. Young coming from sweden somewhere. I know not where. I am currently a student at Graceland University, just finished my sophomore year. At Graceland, I was on the Intramural Board this past year, and ran/received majority vote for Intramural Director next year. I am also on the track team there, which I think I mention later as well. I am a sculpture major, and I also am in Education. So that means that I am going to be teaching high schoolers someday. I cannot wait to be a teacher. I also throw the shot put, hammer, javelin, 35 lb. weight, and discus at Graceland for the track team (told you I would mention it later). Javelin is my new love, I have only been working with it in my past semester and am practicing to make it to Nationals next year. The javelin is basically a lance or spear with a weighted point to make it fall point down (it only weighs a pound or two). The shot put is a large mass of iron weighing 16 pounds. The discus is about two pounds, and looks basically like a frisbee. The hammer is a shot put on a 2 foot piece of wire. The 35 lb. weight is the same thing, except heavier, with a shorter chain. Yes, they are heavy, do not throw them if you do not have to. Play volleyball instead. That is what I would do, if I had not been blessed with this shot putter body that is. Yeah, I would be blasting some balls somewhere. That brings me to the fact that I would someday like to coach volleyball too. Volleyball is truly my first love, and coaching is definitely one of my aspirations. I am a Christian. I asked Jesus Christ to come into my heart and interact in my everyday life at the age of 9. I know that Jesus has built a nice large condominium in my heart, because he is going to be staying there for a long long time. If you would like to talk with me more about Jesus, track, Graceland, or even poop on a stick, you can email me at babybuddha@hotmail.com I will not get weird with you about it. That would be messed up. I worked this summer at Innsbrook Estates and Resort, and plan to return this summer. I worked in the Golf Maintenance division. I mostly raked sandtraps and "weed whooped". With all of the rain we had been getting over the summer, I was shoveling a lot of washed out sand. So that made me really busy. I did, however, learn from Steve 'Beav' Krueger how to goof off though, so there a lot of fun mixed in with my work. Well, that is about all I can tell you about myself at this time :) |
